Is the housing market in Amsterdam North affordable?
Amsterdam North is one of the few neighborhoods in Amsterdam where you can still find “affordable” housing compared to average prices within the Ring Road. In Amsterdam North, the price per square meter has risen to €5,549; in the rest of Amsterdam within the Ring Road, the average price per square meter is €8,022. That’s a difference of €2,473—or 45%!

Prices are significantly lower on average, at €502,000 in Amsterdam North compared to €708,000 within the Ring Road. For this amount, you get an average of 90 m² in Amsterdam North, whereas within the Ring Road, you pay €206,000 more for a home that is 2 m² smaller—namely, 88 m²!
