The private yard features a wrought-iron gate that can be opened with a remote control. The covered entrance leads to the foyer, which includes a coat closet, custom built-in cabinets, and a guest bathroom. The spacious living room, with its large windows, is located in the former “hayloft.” The haystack was the former hay barn, also known as the “kapberg” due to its roof covered with tiles. The height of the space has been put to good use by creating a mezzanine with a beautiful steel structure and an oak floor with underfloor heating. A delightful workspace and lounge area has now been created here. From this spot, there is a beautiful view of the Wormer- en Jisperveld nature reserve, the largest peat meadow area in Western Europe, featuring hundreds of small meadows surrounded by reed beds and narrow ditches. The living area features a cozy wood-burning stove and large sliding doors leading to the rear (under-roofed) terrace. The Bulthaup kitchen is custom-made and fully equipped with Gaggenau built-in appliances. The natural stone floor is sourced from Brazil and is heated by the heat pump.
